The "GR" with the arrow above it is a property mark of King George III. "GR" stands for "George Rex," meaning "King George" in latin. The arrow, known as a broad arrow, indicates that something is the property of the king. This "GR" mark would be seen on many objects used by the British and Loyalist soldier of the American Revolution. |
